March 10, 1963

Asylum
or What the Gentlemen Are Up To Not To Mention The Ladies

Theatre de Lys
121 Christopher St
New York, NY

Previews: February 22, 1963 to March 9, 1963
Scheduled Opening: March 10, 1963

The show never opened. It was cancelled the night before it opened. Shep related the story on the Long John Nebel / Candy Jones show in 1974.

This play was actually two plays linked by a similar theme, structure, and place of action. Five men in the first part and eight women in the second part make up the cast of this Arthur Kopit comedy.
