He was the consummate wordsmith and storyteller. I especially remember a story about a truckload of banana oil that tipped over and gushed down the street. I was rolling over in laughter. Good memories.

I absolutely LOVE the christmas Story, my family and I have watched it every year at Christmas time. I t takes us back to the major excitement of Christmas.

I still give copies of In God We Trust, All Other's Pay Cash as gifts to friends who have never heard of Shep. But as great as Shep was as a writer he was even better on radio. I was lucky enough to have seen him in person twice in college shows. Thanks for a great website!

Jean Shepherd is the greatest storyeller, author, radio personality I've ever had the pleasure to know. I remember Listening to him talk on the radio, I believe on WNEW-FM in NYC very late at night and loving his wit and humor.Thanks for this website.
