Many people have been buying the items put up on auction. I would like to get good scans of the items such as postcards, line drawings, etc. to place on the website. This will help document, for historical purposes, some of the items from Shep's private life of which we have seen so little and give everyone a chance to see it. Proper credit will be given for any images donated.

Lois Nettletons estate is selling off some items on ebay, some of which are Shep related, such as line drawings he did. The goal is to help raise money to be contributed to her old alma mater in Chicago, to set up a scholarship. As per her wishes, all her professional materials are being donated to the school.

This follows the highly successful "Pearl Harbor" and Gettysburg series co-authored by Bill and Newt. Bill is also the author of the ongoing "Lost Regiment" series of books.

Shep Fan, KABC radio host, filmaker, Doug McIntyre and his wife Penny Peyser made a wonderful award winning film about the career of Jack Sheldon, trumpeter. This past week the film won at the Nashville Film Festival. Congrats to Doug and Penny. Now a movie about Shep sounds like a good idea...

Lois Nettleton Dies at 80
Shep's 3rd wife
Actress Lois Nettleton passed away on January 18th. In the 50's she was the 'listener' with whom Shep would talk during his broadcasts and in the 60's she was his 3rd wife. Fred W. Mcdarrah died on November 6, 2007. He was the head photographer for the Village Voice for many years. In the Shepherd community his work is most known for the famous "Poster Shot" of Shepherd in the studio in the sixties.
