Shep left Philadelphia and moved back to Cincinnati for about a year before moving to New York to work at WOR where he remained for 22 years.

According to Bill, "It was one of probably two dozen that WLW radio and WLWT television (Cincinnati) offered to listeners / viewers in the summer of 1954. They were called the WLW Sunburst glasses. Each one pictured a different WLW radio or television personality, complete with his or her autograph, along with the signatures of various other personalities.
