At the time of this broadcast the big scandal was when McGraw Hill printed a phony biography of Howard Hughes written by con-man Clifford Irving. Irving thought the reclusive Hughes would not come out of seclusion to say the book was phony. He did, however hold a conference call attended by dozens of reporters and said he never met Irving
