Show Description | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Shep opens the program with a news story about Caesar the Starling (See clipping below). The rest of the show is dedicated to frogs. He reads the following poems about frogs: "The Frog" by Hilaire Belloc "Warty Bliggens the Toad" by Don Marquis "The Arrogant Frog and the Superior Bull" by Guy Wetmore Carryl Shep tells about the time in Miss Crystal Reeder's biology class when he was partnered with Pearl (Arauz) to dissect a frog. He did all of the work, but she got a better grade. He closes with a story from the Wall Street Journal detailing the shortage of frogs used for frog legs because many are being shipped to college campuses to be dissected. During the show he mentions reading a book by Thorne Smith, but can't remember the title. The book was "The Stray Lamb". | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
