Karl Burdette Huffine (1892-1979) was head football coach and athletic director at Hammond High School from 1928 to 1945. He lived at 7319 Van Buren Avenue with his wife (Katherine Chalk Huffine) and daughter (Mary Elizabeth Huffine). On January 19, 1974, he was inducted into the Indiana Football Hall of Fame.
