Speaking of the Yankees and a game played against the Chicago White Sox earlier that day:
"There is a feeling in the air".
"I think this is going to be a desperate season"
He then reads the story of "Casey at the Bat" by By Ernest Lawrence Thayer.
Comments
The Yankees went 70 - 89 in 1966 and finished in 10th place. Shep was right - it was a desperate season.
