Shep recently read a story in the New York Times about the discovery of the ruins of an Egyptian temple built to honor the pharaoh Ikhnaton. He wonders what school groups a thousand years into the future will be lining up to see from our generation.
He tells the story of accidentally dropping a Hopi Indian ring given to him by his Uncle Charles into Cedar Lake, Michigan, while fishing with the Old Man. He wonders if future archaeologists will someday find that ring and try to figure out if that meant the Hopi tribe once settled in Southwestern Michigan.
