If humorist Jean Shepherd had listened to his Cincinnati radio bosses, would he have ever written "A Christmas Story?"
Shepherd started as a disc jockey on three stations here in the late 1940s and early 1950s, and each fired him for talking too much between records. Sometimes more than once.
"I developed my style here, but it wasn't easy," Shepherd told The Enquirer in 1982, a year before his movie about Ralphie wanting a Red Ryder BB Gun for Christmas was released.
