When Frank Blair of the Today Show fell ill, Jean Shepherd was brought in to guest host the show during the week of May 14th. It is unceretain how long he remained, but apparantly when Blair had returned and the show went to Texas, Shep was brought in to travel in Blair's place and Blair remained in New York to do the news.
